Indian media: A wild goose chaseThe recent murder mystery of Noida girl (Arushi) is revolving all around in Indian Media for last couple of hours. They all seem to have taken oath to dig out the culprit, who is still nowhere to be found, except assuming: This could be the culprit, or that could be the culprit. What the hell this is! Is this called journalism?

Today while watching Aaj Tak in the morning, I found Chaurasiya, acting like a detective, but not doing anything just switching off and on his cell phone and even standing and itching like a lunatic man. What the hell he was doing there, does he think, on being supported by some political goons he can solve out this mystery of lust, then he is also one of the lunatics who are doing good for nothing.

Not just this, the most surprising part of it is that again when I opened my TV to watch the murder mystery, Chaurasiya was sitting in the studio to reveal the mystery layer to layer, while all the coverage was taking place under his byline. What a shame and deceitful the media has been today.

24 hrs handling a single news which is not worth of taking more than a minute, is noting but winning more and more TRP’S. What a hunger of chasing and coming first that comes to nothing at the end. This is not the first time this thing happen but it made me think more that big-shots of news who are known to be the body to define news and raising their voice in public are making such stupid decisions.

Shame, shame!

Instead of charting out their separate ways, the electronic media and print media are out to outwit each other. In the process both are losing their credibility. India is perhaps the only country where the print celebrities want their presence in a significant manner on the idiot boxes while the electronic media big guys want to usurp the role of columnists in newspapers, instead of concentrating on their respective domains. In the absence of proper media education and failure on the part of media practitioners to update themselves and correct their mistakes and absence of transparency, the la affairs’ electronic media have reached to such a nadir that they seem to be beyond redemption.

I do agree vehementally. I mean the 24*7 news reporting has opened up a Pandora’s box, where each news channel seems to be more interested in augmenting thier TRPS or grab the attention, rather than do what journalists are expected to do . In the mad rush to oneupmanship they forget thier the deceased person about whom their are aairing the stories is a human being too ! Gievn at any point, I am sure they would fail to corroborate what has been just said or showed. This is called sheer CHEAP PUBLICITY and cant be termed as those following the ethics of journalism.

indian media is on path from bad to worse. listen any news channel and it's not a news channel but a torture channel, rather. you just switch to one channel and they will exhaust you with one news until you will change that channel.this is surely disgusting. there is no spirit of journalism and its dying. information and broadcasting ministry should look into the matter to save the true spirit.

true journalism??? you must be crazy. indian news channels do not provide or care about the news but they work more like business houses. 24/7 news channel has surely marred the news sensation. today they try to delve deeper and deeper but are loosing the spirit of journalism. a news reaches to the listener in packets not in one go as news channels look for more and more advertisement and sponsorships whereas news is merely the way to earn more and more. this is how they are killing the news and its importance.

I don't know why are so pessimistic. why only taking the darker side. I do understand and agree so do you perhaps that pros and cons always follow. but you missed the positive side. yes you forgot that with the rise of the electronic media, now there is the check on the smallest incident taking place in the country and world. the electronic eye is keeping sharp vigil on everything that goes under carpet. so you can't say that it's going from bad to worse.

secondly it might be, and perhaps is, awkward to repeat some incidents again and again but still you couldn't deny that news is reaching to you which perhaps you would have missed has there been no news channels to provide you with the latest updates.
